My name is David Leal. I met you once on the set of El Gordo y La Flaca, and you performed the song, "Vida 23." I was fortunate to have my picture taken with you and receive your autograph; however, I did not get the chance to speak to you because there were so many fans around. Vida 23 is one of my favorite songs because of its lyrics about living a good life.
I am writing this letter to you to tell you that you are my role model. I look up to you because of your positive attitude. Also, we share many similarities. I am 30 years old just like you. We were born the same year and have the same heritage (Cuban background). Most importantly, we share the philosophy of always moving forward.
You keep inspiring me through your music. Although I suffer from Muscular Dystrophy, a hereditary disease that involves a progressive weakening of the muscles which has caused me to lose the usage of my hands, I am currently working on my own book, and I have an editor helping me to write. You are featured in my story, and you are playing yourself. I refuse to let my illness stop me from making an impact on this world. I still have my mind and the ability to create.
I was born and raised in Hialeah, and that is where I currently reside. I like Japanese Animation, the Florida Marlins and music videos. In fact, it is my dream to be in one of your videos. I live my life by my quote, “Never give up in life, no matter what happens.” I know you share my view of perseverance and being positive.
You are an extremely talented individual, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for you. Thank you for motivating me to reach my goals and to live life to the fullest, no matter what.
I appreciate you taking the time to read my letter.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
